About material classification
(Updated on 2020/07/03)
On this page, I will explain concrete example process of material separation by explaining examples.
Material division is an operation to divide illustrations into eyelashes, eyeballs, outlines etc. for each part,
It becomes necessary work when modeling Live2D.
Tutorial video " Illustration processing "Because detailed materials classification and explanation are carried out for each part by site, please have a look.
Imported (drawn) data into Cubism Editor is sorted according to material, but depending on your drawing tool
In rare cases it may not be able to load normally.
The following is a drawing tool guaranteeing operation, please confirm.
- Photoshop (adobe)
- CLIP STUDIO PAINT (Celsis)
Criteria for dividing materials
The amount of material to be divided depends on the model,
You will be able to make models with higher quality as you divide them finely.
Procedure for dividing materials
First of all I will copy the original picture.
Place the copied original in the newly created group (folder) and rewrite it to the name of the part for easy understanding.
Let's copy the necessary parts partly for the original picture.
Set the layer mask in the group that copied the original picture and cut around the parts you want to clip.
Even if you erroneously overdraw the drawing part, it is convenient because it can be easily restored by using the layer mask.
Be sure to create a new layer and add the color and line of the part there.
Parts that move greatly, those that will be visible when the other parts move, draw a little more beforehand and do it.
If you add directly to the layer of the original picture in the group, it will be difficult to modify later, so be careful.
The above is the general flow of material division.
For detailed material classification and explanation for each part, see the tutorial video "Illustration processing"Please refer to the.

PSD for material separation and PSD for import
WHEN MODELING, IT IS CONVENIENT TO PREPARE THE FOLLOWING TWO PSDS FOR EASY MODIFICATION AND MANAGEMENT.
PSD for material division:
mainly Part(s) Used when processing / editing
PSD for import:
Cubism Used when loading into Editor
PSD for dividing material
PSD for material separation is a PSD that processes / edits when model drawing, addition of parts drawing and further material classification is required.
All folders and layer masks will be in the state before joining.
PSD for import
PSD for importCubism Combine folders and layer masks in the PSD for material separation to load into the Editor
It is a PSD with parts put together in one layer.
Basically, it is easier to do it for "importing PSD"
We recommend that you do it in "PSD for dividing materials" so that you can make later edits easier.
For more information on how to make an imported PSD, seeHow to make an imported PSD"Please refer to the.
