5.2 New Features
Updated: 12/17/2024
Live2D Cubism gets a major update to version 5.2!
Please see below for a detailed description of the new features.
Parameter controller
The new “parameter controller” allows for collective control of parameters during the animation production process!
You can set up a controller on the model and drag it directly on the view to add motion.
This greatly improves the efficiency of animation creation.
Furthermore, you can set a target to have the controller automatically follow it.
By setting a target on the hand and leg, it is possible to do things like holding hands or making the leg land in the same place after jumping.
See “About the parameter controller” for details.
Inverted shape pasting
A new option for pasting forms is the ability to paste inverted shapes!
It allows you to efficiently create models that look like they are made symmetrically.
It is easy to use this option because all you have to do is enable the option, copy the completed form on the right side, and paste it into the form on the symmetrical left side.
See “Paste Form Special” and “Where to apply form pasting” for details.
Loop editing assistance
A function to assist in the creation of loop animations has been added!
When enabled, this function automatically duplicates keys before and after the scene.
This allows the beginning and ending keys to be connected smoothly, so that the scene loops naturally when played back on repeat.
Automatically duplicated keys are interlocked, so that changes made later to key values are immediately reflected in the duplicated keys.
See “Loop editing assistance” for details.
Deformer shape restoration
The [Revert to original] feature has been enhanced to also restore the shapes of rotation and warp deformers!
If you want to readjust a deformer from scratch, or if you have accidentally added deformations, you can restore the original saved shape.
See “Deformer shape restoration” for details.
