MotionSample
Updated: 09/29/2026
Summary
This sample uses the Cubism SDK for Unreal Engine to animate the motion of a model in Unreal Engine.
See “Motion (UE)” for details on the motion function.
The following assets are available in Content/Samples/Motion.
- MotionSample
Level asset containing the sample - MotionSampleUI
Widget blueprint for controlling the UI displayed in the sample - MotionSampleUICompoBoxItem
UI asset used within MotionSampleUI
Purpose
You can select a motion from the list of .motion3.json files configured within each model’s .model3.json file to check how each model’s motion behaves.
If you want to review the details of the sample implementation, check the contents of the MotionSample level blueprint and the MotionSampleUI widget blueprint.
How to use
Open the MotionSample level and start PIE. If the model is displayed too far away, move closer to the model.
Next, display the mouse cursor, select the model whose expression you want to change from the “TargetModel” drop-down list, and then select the motion you want to play back from the “Motion” drop-down list. You can also specify the motion offset time and priority.
After making your selection, click the “Play” button to play the looping motion. If you click “Stop,” the motion will stop as soon as it finishes playing.
