Adjustment layer
An adjustment layer can apply effects and color corrections to all layers below.
Using clipping masks makes it easy to apply effects and color corrections by limiting the filter effect to a specific layer or group of layers.
How to create an adjustment layer
Adjustment layers can be created by right-clicking on the canvas or in the layer list and then clicking on New layer > Text.
How to set the effect
- Select a layer.
- Select an effect from the palette.
Adjustment layer order and coverage
Effects and color corrections are applied to all layers below the adjustment layer in the layer list.
Apply adjustment layers only within a group
Adjustment layers in a group can only apply the effect to the layers below it in the same group.
Note: To apply adjustment layers only to the contents of a group, set the group rendering mode to “Normal.”
This method makes it possible to produce color corrections and effects only on specific characters or groups of parts without affecting other layers.
